A car fire triggered by a head-on collision early Sunday in Jacksonville left both drivers injured and caused temporary road closures.
The Florida Highway Patrol said a silver Chevy and red Ford were involved in the crash at about 4:40 a.m. on Interstate 295 near Baymeadows Road that caused both cars to become engulfed in flames.
The Chevrolet driver, 23-year-old Xavien Hamm, and Mustang driver, 32-year-old Jason Stefano, were taken to Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
A family member of Stefano told Action News Jax that Stefano is suffering from several broken bones and a laceration to his spleen.

The southbound lanes of I-295 were closed for several hours during the investigation.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
