JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — For the second day in a row, Sky Action News Jax captured a school bus blocking traffic with students onboard.
This time, it happened Wednesday outside Ed White High School on Old Middleburg Road.
We first uncovered the practice Tuesday outside River City Science Academy on Beach Boulevard. Since then, the Dean of Students sent an email to Student Transportation of America which said the practice is “endangering the lives of the students” and to “please inform the drivers that this practice should stop immediately.”
Action News Jax sent the Duval County Public Schools a clip of the buses blocking traffic at Ed White High School. The district’s spokesperson reviewed the clip and sent a statement reads in part:
“The driver has since been counseled by the bus contractor and advised that only law enforcement may assist with traffic management.”
The spokesperson said school officials and Duval County School Police will continue to monitor and provide further support to ensure safety is maintained.
DCPS also provided this statement
Whenever safety is a concern with one of our bus contractors, we welcome community members to contact the bus contractor directly or the DCPS Transportation Department at (904) 858-6200."

Bernie Bus Services had one of the mechanics come tell us they had no comment. Told me to talk to spokesperson in NY.
