Jacksonville, FL. — Jacksonville police are investigating a bizarre crime that happened last night with a woman and a gun, and several people who watched it all unfold.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said around 9:30 p.m. Friday that woman was involved in a crash on Beach Boulevard. After the collision they say she pulled out a gun and pointed it at the people inside the other vehicle involved, but that was only the beginning.
Investigators said from there the woman ran to a nearby Sam’s Club parking lot where she pointed her gun at people inside a food truck.
The woman then walked up to the entrance of the store - which was closed - and began furiously firing inside. She shot so many times police said she shattered the thick glass door.
JSO said the suspect then entered the store where she proceeded to fire the gun inside.
There were employees inside the store at the time but JSO said, thankfully, no one was hurt.
The woman was arrested soon after officers arrived. She was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries believed to have occurred as she entered the business through the broken glass.
Right now investigators are working to figure out a motive for the wild string of events.
Sam’s Club issued the following statement concerning the shooting: “We’re glad no members or associates were injured. The Club is planned to remain closed today and reopen tomorrow.”

Update 11:45 p.m.: Another evidence technician just arrived.
Update 11:34 p.m.: Within the last 10 minutes, a crime scene van showed up. Action News Jax Christy Turner can also see an officer at the front entrance and the doors appear open. Still no word from JSO on the reason for the activity.
Update 11:23 p.m.: Officers rolled carts over, so the people within the crime scene tape can sit down. A nice gesture. Looks like they are going to be here for a while.
Update 11:09 p.m.: Two patrol cars leaving, but there are still several officers at the scene.
Update 11:05 p.m.: More than a dozen patrol cars. Action News Jax Christy Turner checked the store hours and saw the Sam’s Club closed at 8 p.m. It appears there are some employees and possibly some customers within the crime scene tape. No real sense of urgency, so it appears police have the scene secure.
