MACCLENNY, Fla. — A driver is dead after a car drove into a house and caught fire Wednesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol confirms.
The crash happened at Birch Street and Pine Avenue, where the driver drove into the detached garage of the home and caught fire, FHP said.
The pickup truck, garage and vehicle in the garage were destroyed by the fire. The house adjoining to the garage was also damaged by the fire.
The driver of the pickup truck, 55-year-old Larry Jones.
Troopers responded around 7 p.m. to the area.
FHP said they do not believe the home that was driven into was the driver's house. No one was home at the time of the crash.
