JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 56-year-old man faces life in prison after being convicted Wednesday of armed burglary with assault or battery.
Prosecutors said Todd West showed up at the victim's home in May, smashed a window with an axe and forced his way inside.
West followed the victim, who was armed, out of the home, according to prosecutors. The victim shot at him, but missed. West dragged the victim to the ground, took the gun and threatened to kill her if she called police before he left, prosecutors said.
West is scheduled to be sentenced the week of Dec. 14.
