JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — By the looks of it, construction crews are getting ready for something big at a plot of land off 103rd Street near Alliance Florida at Cecil Commerce Center.
The contractor on-site, The Conlan Company, would not confirm what’s in the works but according to a public records search, Amazon has filed a building permit request for the location.

Action News Jax reported back in September about a project known only as "Project Velo" that was proposing 1,200 jobs in exchange for more than $8 million in incentives.
The building permits filed by Amazon match the specs described for “Project Velo.”
According to the permits, a new warehouse fulfillment center would go on an 86-acre parcel at 13333 103rd Street. The permit also lists Atlanta-based Macgregor Associates as the architect.
Back in October, the city issued a site-clearing permit for The Conlan Company, the same company that, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record, is the builder for Amazon’s already approved fulfillment center in Northwest Jacksonville.

If construction is approved, the Westside project would be the second location for Amazon in Jacksonville.
Action News Jax reported in July that Amazon announced it's creating 1,500 jobs for Jacksonville's Northwest side with its fulfillment center meant to pick, pack and ship small items to customers.
If Project Velo turns out to be yet another Amazon location, it could potentially create 325 jobs with an average wage of more than $50,000 and another 875 jobs all by the end of 2019.
The City Council member for the area and a city spokesperson declined to comment. Amazon did not respond to an email request for comment.
