JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An autopsy is expected to be performed Friday on a 5-month-old girl who was found dead in a Southside home.
Police said the home on Cumberland Station Drive was being used as an unlicensed day care – with eight other children in the home at the time.
The 17-year-old daughter of the homeowner is the one who check on the baby and called 911. The teen performed CPR until paramedics arrived.
Police said the homeowner was at the house, but left to go to a store.
During a public records search, Action News Jax found Cleo and Portia Bentley are the homeowners. Cleo Bentley is listed as a bishop with at the Natural Born Truth Ministry in Jacksonville.
Neighbors told us they knew the home was used as a day care.
According to the Florida Department of Children and Families, a license is required when more than one non-related family group in a home.
