A baby boy and his mother are doing well after she gave birth to her new son in the parking lot of a Jacksonville car dealership on Friday.
Action News Jax Anchor Tenikka Hughes talked with the woman who helped the mother as she gave birth.
Only Used Trucks is in the business of moving stuff off its lot on Blanding Boulevard.
Office manager and mom of four Melissa Bomar said what arrived at the dealership on Friday is something she never expected.
“I was in my office. One of the guys ran in and said we need to call 911,” Bomar said. “There's a baby being born in the parking lot.”

She said her ‘mommy instinct’ kicked in as her coworkers called 911.
“I said, 'What there's a baby being born?'” Bomar said. “The baby was coming out when I got to the car.”
Within seconds, a baby boy was in Bomar's hands.

“Oh my God, I can't believe I just did this!” Bomar said. “Hurry up rescue, get here.”
Paramedics got to the auto shop soon after.
“They cut the umbilical cord off in the parking lot, put mom and baby in the ambulance then off they went,” Bomar said.
Bomar said the delivery wasn't just incredible, it was ironic.
She said she used to dream of being a nurse as a kid, until she learned she had an aversion to blood.
“I know that sounds bizarre,” she said. “I guess everybody says that you get put in a position sometimes and you don't know how you will react until you're in that position.”
Bomar said the couple named their son Alix Xavier.
He weighed almost 8 pounds and was 20 inches long.
Both he and his mom are doing well and Alix's parents promised to bring him back to the dealership for a reunion.
