GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. — The mother of the woman accused of baiting a local teen to his death is speaking out about the serious allegations against her daughter.
Alexandra Schreffler, 21, is one of 4 people charged with murder and robbery of 18 year-old local baseball player Kolton Shearer.
Schreffler’s mother, who did not want to be identified, does not think she should be charged with murder.
“No matter what they say about her — she is not a murderer,” she said.
Schreffler’s mother describes her as sweet and high-energy. But friends of the murder victim paint a very different picture.
Schreffler, along with Taurean Johnson, 28; Jordan Coleman, 20; and Ozell Mcnabb Jr, 22; is charged with murder and robbery. Deputies said Shearer was shot and killed after showing up at Coleman and Schreffler’s home in Green Cove Springs.
“She shouldn’t have been friends with them if it lead her into this situation she’s in now,” said her mother.

Deputies say they may have been there to buy drugs. But one of Shearer's friends, who was with him when he was shot and killed, said they went there to hang out with some girls. In an exclusive conversation, Tyler Besherse said instead, they were robbed by three armed men.
Besherse thinks Schreffler came up with the elaborate set-up and baited Shearer to his death.
Action News Jax asked her Schreffler’s mother if she thinks her daughter is capable of being involved in a robbery and murder.
“I don’t know. That’s the investigators’ job to figure out If she’s a part of it,” she said.
Reporter: “That is a very honest answer from a mama. Why, ‘I don’t know?’”
Mom: “I love my daughter and I will stand behind her 110 percent, throughout all of this. I’m not going to leave her,” she said.
Schreffler’s mother sends this message to the victim’s family:
“I know just one other person that is hurting worse than I am right now. And it’s the mother that actually lost a son. And my deepest sympathy goes out to her because I don’t know what would have happened if I would have lost Alexandra in that,” she said.
