Caitlyn Frisina latest: Former soccer coach in jail in Columbia County

The former Columbia County high school soccer coach who was on the run with a teen girl for nearly a week had found a job in New York before their capture, The Associated Press reports.

Rian Rodriguez, 27, is facing an interference with custody of a child charge after he was found with 17-year-old Caitlyn Frisina in Syracuse, New York.

The former Fort White High School soccer coach reportedly had started working in upstate New York after the pair fled Columbia County on Nov. 26.

According to AP, Rodriguez started working in order to fund his travels.

Investigator Todd Grant told the Syracuse Post-Standard that he saw Rodriguez's red Mercury on Dec. 1.

The investigator saw Rodriguez leaving a direct marketing firm in Syracuse. Rodriguez was reportedly at a new hire orientation.

Grant stopped the car and arrested Rodriguez at gunpoint in a parking lot, AP reports.

Grant said Rodriguez planned to earn money for fake documents to cross the Canadian border with Caitlyn.

Caitlyn sat in the car during the two-hour orientation.

Rodriguez's attorney said his client wants to return to Florida as soon as possible to face the charge of interfering with child custody.
