COVID-19 Breakdown for July 13

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health is reporting another 12,624 cases of COVID-19 in Monday’s report.

Duval County is reporting 506 new cases, bringing the total to 13,370. Three people also passed away in Duval County who had COVID-19. They were an 86-year-old woman, a 78-year-old man, and a 93-year-old man. Between Saturday and Sunday, the Florida Department of Health recorded 10,361 people were tested. 11.3 percent of that were positive. This is down from last weekend’s report where the average positive testing rate was 18.6 percent.

St. Johns County is reporting 62 new cases, bringing the county’s total to 1,905. Clay County is reporting 49 new cases, Nassau recorded 22 cases, and Baker County reported 13 cases.

The total cases in the metro area is now at 17,553.

At the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office detention facilities, 184 inmates total were positive for COVID-19 as of Thursday, July 9.

Testing Sites

The City of Jacksonville opened a new testing site in Arlington Monday morning. The site is at the Jim Fortuna Senior Center and is open Monday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The site is planned to run until December.

Three other city-run testing sites are planned to open this week. One testing center will open Thursday at the former Kmart Shopping Center in Neptune Beach.

Testing will be done by alphabetized time slots.

  • 7 a.m. - 8 a.m.: High Risk Only, Over 65, Underlying Conditions, Health Care Workers or First Responders with Symptoms
  • 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.: A-E
  • 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.: F-J
  • 11 a.m. - 1 pm.: K-O
  • 12 p.m. - 2 p.m.: P-T
  • 1 - 3 p.m.: U-Z

According the Florida Association of Public Information Officers, as of 11 a.m. Monday morning, 1209 people were tested at the four federal-run testing sites.
