The Jacksonville Beach Police Department responded Monday afternoon to a water main break at Beach Boulevard and 2nd Street South.
JBPD Cmdr. Mark Evans said crews were able to stop the break and are just allowing it to drain.
There is a underground vault used to hold storm water under Beach Boulevard and this doesn't affect the drinking water supply.
When workers started working to fix the break, they replaced a 10-inch valve with a 12-inch valve. This forced crews to shut off the water in that area for about an hour, affecting the Pablo Towers Apartments.
