A truck driver who was killed in a road rage shooting in Jacksonville last week left behind a dog, which was reunited with his son in New Jersey on Saturday.
George Guerrero was killed after he was shot while driving on I-10 May 7.
Action News Jax was there when George Guerrero’s cousin, Blanca Clendenin drove up from Daytona Beach to pick up Aria from a Jacksonville shelter.
On Saturday, she drove to New Jersey, where George Guerrero’s son, Christopher Guerrero, was finally able to cuddle Aria. The family told us it was a reunion like no other.
Clendenin said Aria was sitting next to George Guerrero when he was shot and killed in his semitruck.
“He was not alone. He was with his best friend. He was with his best friend and that’s what she is, his best friend,” said Clendenin.
Clendenin told us her family is passing out fliers at truck stops in hopes of catching the man who allegedly shot and killed her cousin. Police believe the shooter was driving a semi with an orange cab carrying a white trailer.
As of Saturday, Crime Stoppers had received about 55 tips on this case.
