Florida Highway Patrol is sharing new information following a crash Saturday night after a driver drove off the south end of the Dames Point Bridge.
Troopers say the accident occurred between two vehicles while they both traveled southbound on the bridge. Following a collision, one vehicle went over a concreate barrier and into the St. Johns River.
The driver that fell into the St. John’s is described as a 27-year-old male who fortunately only suffered minor injuries, according to a report.
Troopers say the second driver, a 37-year-old male, was not injured in the crash.
UPDATE 10:23 p.m. All lanes are open again on I-295 Southbound at Dames Point Bridge.
A vehicle has gone over the side of the Dames Point Bridge according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The vehicle went over the bridge wall after a crash involving one other vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle has safely exited and is waiting on top of the vehicle. Rescue personnel are working to recover the driver.

No injuries have been reported.
All lanes have been blocked due to the crash.
Along with the Florida Highway Patrol, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue department and Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office are also responding.
