NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — A fire broke out overnight near a local marina, according to Nassau County Fire Rescue.
The fire destroyed the Ocean Outboard Marine building, near the Tiger Point Marina in Fernandina Beach.
Neighbors told Action News Jax the building that burned was a boat repair building.
Multiple units were called out to the scene.
Several fire marshals were at the scene investigating the official cause of the fire, as the Department of Environmental Protection and Coast Guard are monitoring any potential chemical exposures according to firefighters.
In the meantime, the owner of the business is already looking to get his shop up and running again.
"I'm going to push (the debris) in the corner and have someone work on a dumpster, and put a tent up and go back to work," shop owner Eric Oliver said.
The building is still smoldering. Fire marshal is going through the scene now. pic.twitter.com/KyO1Ngfzuk
