A Gainesville police officer went to the store and bought a 74-year-old man a week worth of groceries after his were stolen while he was getting off a bus.
Gainesville Police Department said Saleem Hasan had gotten off the bus and put his groceries on the ground when a woman walked past and grabbed them.
Hasan has difficulty with mobility and was not able to stop the woman from stealing the $85 worth of groceries that would have lasted him a month.
GPD Officer Franklin went to the Publix where Hasan got the groceries and bought him all the same items.
He then took them to Hasan at his house.
GPD shared a photo of Franklin and Hasan on Facebook.
