Gun found at Chaffee Trail Elementary School, no reported injuries

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A gun was found at Chaffee Trail Elementary School Monday, according to Duval County Public Schools.

Casie L. Doyle, the principal of the school, sent students home with a letter about the incident.

Several students told administrators that a classmate had a weapon, according to Doyle.

Doyle said school officials searched and found a gun in the school.

The gun was removed, and DCPS is investigating the incident.

There are no reported injuries, according to DCPS.
