Several local counties are beginning sandbag distribution in preparation for Hurricane Irma's landfall.
St. Johns County
Officials began distributing free sandbags beginning at noon Wednesday.
They are being distributed at six locations throughout the county.

The City of St. Augustine will begin providing sandbags Thursday at Francis Field.
They will be available beginning at 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. There is a limit of 20 bags per person and people must provide their own transportation and shovels.

Duval County
The City of Atlantic Beach and a local business are offering free sand and sandbags in preparation for Hurricane Irma.
City officials said a limited quantity of sand is available for Atlantic Beach residents at the Jack Russell Park skate park. The limit is 10 bags and residents must bring their own shovels, officials said.
Jennifer Holdeman, owner of Jax Dirtworks Inc., said her business also has sand for sandbags.
The sand is located in the cul de sac on Mealy Street.
Holdeman plans to keep the sand stocked until Saturday evening.
No other plans for sandbag distribution in Duval have been released.

Clay County
UPDATE: As of Friday morning, Orange Park P.D. said they are out of sand and sandbags.
Officials will begin distributing sandbags Thursday at five locations.
- Middleburg Fire Station- 4003 Everett Ave.
- Fleming Island Fire Station- 5995 Pine Ave.
- Orange Park Fire Station- 2025 Smith St.
- Green Cove Springs Public Works Yard- 900 Gum St
- Keystone Heights City Hall- 555 South Lawrence Blvd
County officials said shelter locations will be announced Thursday.
Bradford County
Officials began distributing sandbags at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The bags will be available daily at four locations.
