IKEA buys land on the Southside for $13 million

It's expected to bring 250 new jobs to our area ... and all the furniture you could ever need.

Furniture megastore IKEA is one step closer to coming to Jacksonville.

Property records with the Duval County Clerk of Courts show IKEA has bought 25 acres of land on the Southside for $13 million.

The land sits at Gate Parkway and I-295, not too far from the St. Johns Town Center.

The store's plan is to begin construction sometime this summer and open their doors in the fall of 2017.
