JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville woman is too afraid to return home after she said her next-door neighbor stole several pairs of her underwear.

Nicolas Rojas was arrested Monday at his home in Jacksonville’s San Jose neighborhood.

He bonded out of jail on Tuesday night.

“I just want everyone to be aware of this psycho that I have next door to me,” said the Jacksonville mother of three.

She noticed something strange when she went to her garage to check on her laundry: Her underwear kept disappearing.

“Two panties are missing in less than 30 minutes,” she said.

She checked her surveillance video and saw that Rojas had entered and left her garage twice during that time.

When Rojas came back a third time, she confronted him.

“I just said, ‘What do you need?’ He said, ‘Oh, do you have some limes?’” she said.

She said Rojas came over later and apologized to her husband.

“So my husband was asking him, ‘Why do you do something like this? Why, why, why to my wife? You know, why?’ And he says, ‘Oh, because you have a very attractive wife,’” she said.

They called police, who arrested Rojas after seeing the surveillance video.

Nicolas Rojas is related to Kevin Rojas, who was charged with shooting a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office undercover officer in front of the officer's son during a traffic stop last year.

This week’s arrest has neighbors on edge.

“My dad was worried about that. He said we’ve got to lock the garage every night because of that,” said neighbor Ashley Hercules.

Action News Jax knocked on Nicolas Rojas’ door and left him a voicemail to get his side of the story, but he has not responded.
