Jacksonville officers have arrested an 18-year-old in connection with a deadly shooting at The Jacksonville Landing.
Tyrik Solomon was arrested Wednesday for carrying a concealed weapon during the shooting that killed 16-year-old Khamoi Petersen and hurt a 13-year-old at the Landing on Jan. 16.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the 13-year-old's injuries were not life-threatening.
Solomon is charged with carrying a concealed firearm at The Landing around the time of the shooting.
Officers said the shooting likely happened after an argument.
They said it was possible that shots were fired in retaliation for a shooting during Art Walk on Jan. 4, just blocks away from The Landing.
Petersen's mom said Khamoi was not at Art Walk that night, and disputed claims that her son was a gang member.
Friends of 16 year-old "KP" just gave me this picture of him with his mom. Everyone calls him their "little brother" pic.twitter.com/asYZeWz8Pz
