A Jacksonville man is dead following a hit-and-run crash Monday night on Normandy Boulevard, according to a Florida Highway Patrol traffic report.
At approximately 9:02 p.m., Charles Nicholas Raybuck, 29, was in the travel lane when a car driving east on Normandy Blvd near Lane Avenue hit him, troopers stated.
The driver of the vehicle fled the area, continuing east on Normandy Blvd, the report stated.
FHP patrol said they are continuing to follow possible leads before they release a description of the vehicle. However, what appeared to be a bumper from the vehicle was found near the scene Monday.

Action News Jax found online records that show 25 fatal hit-and-run crashes were reported in Duval county in the last year, 14 of those involved a pedestrian.
Neighbors and surrounding businesses told Action News Jax speeding is a top safety concern for this area.
“I walk in the grass and keep looking behind me every time I walk, every few minutes I’m looking behind to see what traffic is doing, especially if I see them speeding like this,” Neighbor Susan Sweil said.
“People get hit all the time, especially you do see a lot of homeless out here so you see them crossing the road with their buggies and stuff like that and it just gets really chaotic out here all the time,” nearby employee Brittany Peak said.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact FHP.
