The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a 14-year-old boy was shot and killed on the Westside on Tuesday night.

Police responded to the area of Melvin and Ricker roads. Officers said the shooting happened behind an old day care in the 4600 block of Ricker Road.
Police said the boy was with three other juveniles and they flagged someone down at the corner of Ricker and Melvin. Someone picked them up and took them to a fire station.

The boy was taken to the hospital, where he died. It is not yet known who is involved in the shooting. Police are questioning the three juveniles who were with the boy.
