JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A body was found after firefighters responded to a dumpster fire in Jacksonville, according to police.
Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department responded at 3:45 a.m. Monday to a fire in the 1200 block of Palmetto Street, which is south of East 3rd Street.

The body was found in the dumpster after firefighters extinguished the fire, Jacksonville police said. It is not known if the person was killed or not before the dumpster caught fire or not.
There is no victim information.

Police said the body was badly damaged and it could be weeks before the victim is identified.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is working with the State Fire Marshal in the ongoing investigation.
The building where the dumpster is located is used as a warehouse for a local production company. The owner didn't want to make a comment on camera but stressed they are not involved in the incident.
