JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — UPDATE at 7:53 p.m., Saturday: The Jacksonville Beach Police Department said it recovered the body of a white woman in the marsh of the intercostal waterway near J Turner Butler Blvd, in Jacksonville Beach.
Police said the body was found by officers searching for Suzanne Carlson, who has been missing since Thursday.
The body has been transported to the Duval County Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification and determination of death.

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a missing woman.
Suzanne Marie Carlson, 35, is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 100 pounds, with blonde hair and green eyes.

Police said she was last seen around 3 a.m. Thursday knocking on her neighbors doors in The Sanctuary community.
Residents called police who responded quickly but were not able to locate her, according to Chief Patrick Dooley of the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.

Her car was found at her home, Dooley says, but her purse was not there.
She was reported missing Thursday by her fiance' who works on a tugboat and returned from a trip Thursday evening.
He says he last spoke with her around 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.

Officers went to Carlson's home at 7:50 p.m. Thursday.
The front door was unlocked, the garage door was open, 2 screen doors were open, the shower was running and Carlson's car keys were there, according to a police report.

Her phone was turned off and the last ping from the phone was at 5:04 a.m. Thursday within 25 meters of Sanctuary Way South.
Action News Jax spoke with Carlson’s parents Friday both before and after they met with detectives. They told us they last heard from their daughter on Tuesday, but didn’t want to comment further at this time.
