JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after one person died and one person has life-threatening injuries after a shooting at Baymeadows Road and Baymeadows Way on Tuesday night.
One person was found shot in the road on Baymeadows Road around 8:30 p.m., and shortly thereafter, another person was found shot in a car that had crashed on Interstate 95 near J. Turner Butler Boulevard.
Police said that crash closed all northbound lanes of I-95 at JTB. JSO said it is not known at this time if the person that died was the person found in the roadway or the person found in the crashed car.
JSO is still working to get information on the victims, as both were transported quickly by medical personnel. JSO said investigators will be working through the night on the investigation, talking to witnesses and seeking surveillance video from nearby businesses.
