Lifeguards pulled someone from the ocean at Atlantic Beach on Saturday.
Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department said firefighters were called to 11th and Beach Avenue at 4:12 p.m. for a reported drowning.
A couple said they called 911 after they saw him drifting out into the water with his head bobbing.
A male between 30 or 40 years old was unconscious when they pulled him from the water, Atlantic Beach police said.
He was taken to the hospital.
No word yet on his condition.
