Logan Mott was the first defendant called before judge during first appearances Thursday morning. He was ordered held without bond.
His father was present in court but left the courtroom without making comment.

UPDATE, 12/5/17, 8:10 p.m.: New documents released by the State Attorney's Office reveal that Logan Mott's grandmother, 53-year-old Kristina French, died as the result of a gunshot wound.
The documents also show that when Logan's father Eric arrived at home after not being picked up at the airport by his mother and son on Nov. 22, he discovered that pain medicines were missing from his home, in addition to French's vehicle and his firearms.
More details are also revealed in the documents about where Logan was spotted in his attempt to get to Canada. At 1:15 p.m. on Nov. 23, investigators say French's debit card was used at an ATM near Hanover, Pa. Video surveillance showed a male who appeared to be Logan using the ATM and then leaving the area in a silver Dodge Dart.
UPDATE: 12/5/17, 7:40 p.m.: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Logan Mott has now been booked into jail.

UPDATE, 12/5/17, 7:30 p.m.: State Attorney Melissa Nelson released the following statement after Logan Mott arrived back in Duval County:
"Almost two weeks after an initial missing persons case shifted to a murder investigation, Logan Mott is back in Duval County. Mott has been charged as an adult with second-degree murder and grand theft auto. <br/> <br/> "I'd like to thank the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Erie County District Attorney's Office, Erie County Youth Services, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Neptune Beach Police Department, Buffalo Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies along the East Coast that have assisted in bringing Mott back to Jacksonville. <br/> <br/> "We understand this is a case of great interest, but because it is pending we will not be providing further comment."
UPDATE, 12/5/17, 6 p.m.: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Logan Mott arrived with Jacksonville officers at the Jacksonville International Airport at 5:04 p.m.
He arrived at the police station to be interviewed at 5:39 p.m. JSO said it will provide an update once Logan has been booked into jail.

The Neptune Beach teen accused of killing his grandmother is headed back to Florida, according to his attorney.
Prosecutors say Logan Mott, 15, stabbed and shot Kristina French, 53, then fled the state of Florida.
Officials were searching for Logan and his grandmother for days before they found French's body in a shallow grave in the backyard of Logan's father's home.

Officials say Logan had a bloody knife and three of his father's guns with him when he was captured on Nov. 24 while making a U-turn at the Canadian border.
Logan has denied any involvement in his grandmother's death.
