A man is in critical condition after a reported jet ski accident in the Intracoastal Waterway south of the State Road 312 bridge on Friday afternoon.
St. Johns County Fire Rescue, along with law enforcement, responded to the area around 3:15 p.m.
Fire Rescue treated the man and took him to Flagler Hospital. The U.S. Coast Guard said it got a call about a man in his 50s who crashed into a sandbar and had a neck injury.
Fire Rescue was closer to the area, so he was picked up by boat and taken to a dock, and from there, he was taken to the hospital.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission will be handing the incident investigation. According to FWC, the man, a father, was on one jet ski and his wife and daughter were on another jet ski. There was no collision between the two jet skis, FWC said.
