Man injured in Orange Park workplace shooting recovering

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — The man who was injured when his coworker came to work with a gun and began shooting Monday is recovering.

Family said Dean Hagins Jr. is recovering after the shooting at Jacksonville Granite.

His father spoke with the media Monday.

Hagins was shot when James Cameau brought a semi-automatic gun and opened fire on his coworkers.

He followed them through the business and continued to shoot at them as they fled from the gun fire, according to deputies.

Deputies said Cameau began working at the business approximately a month ago. He appeared despondent in the days before the shooting, coworkers told deputies.

Deputies with Clay County Sheriff's Office found Cameau dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound shortly after they arrived at Jacksonville Granite.
