Man shot after altercation on Jacksonville's Southside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on Jacksonville’s Southside overnight.

Police responded to the 3400 block of Philips Highway, near Emerson Street.

JSO said the a verbal altercation extended into a business. The victim was shot in the ankle and the wound is not life-threatening. The suspect ran from the scene.
