Family members of a Clay County high school student say his organs will give life to four people after he collapsed at school and later died.
Ben Johnson's family says the teen’s selflessness is easing their grief during their time of tragedy.
The sophomore student-athlete collapsed during a weightlifting class at school on Tuesday.
Wolfson Children’s Hospital says the teen’s heart stopped, causing irreversible brain damage.
He was in critical condition and died at the hospital Thursday morning.
Ben played junior varsity football and baseball at Fleming Island High.
The junior varsity team took time to honor their teammate during Thursday night's game.
Players sported stickers on their helmets in memory of Ben, and formed his number on the field. There was also a moment of silence.
