Several people turned up the music Wednesday night for a local teen shot and killed four years ago.
Jordan Davis’ father and friends met at the same Gate gas station where he was shot and killed during an argument over loud music.
“Oh, I’m so emotional. This is the 4th anniversary of Jordan’s death,” said Ron Davis.
Standing at the very same spot his son was shot and killed four years ago had Ron Davis full of emotion. That’s because he wasn’t standing alone. Jacksonville sheriff's officers, friends, family and even strangers showed up to remember Jordan Davis.

“These people are out here, acknowledging Jordan, and making music for Jordan,” said Ron Davis, Jordan Davis’ father.
Davis wore a shirt with the message "Music is not a weapon, hatred is." It’s a message, he said is uniting everyone at the gas station, on Baymeadows Road and Southside Boulevard.
“It shows me that Jacksonville, after four years, still cares for Jordan,” said Davis.
Four years ago, Jordan Davis was shot and killed during an argument over loud music. Michael Dunn shot Jordan and is now serving time for his murder. A plaque hangs outside the gas station as a memorial to Jordan.
“I want to thank, former mayor John Peyton, whose family owns Gate gas station. He’s the one that sat down with me, and orchestrated this plaque to be put up, in Jordan’s name. He said, as long as his family owns this gas station, the plaque will be there,” said Davis.
Davis said although it’s been four years since his son was murdered, it’s still hard for him to cope. That’s why he comes to the memorial to feel closer to his son.
