JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police are working to identify a man whose body was recovered Saturday morning along the banks of the St. Johns River near the cruise ship terminal.
Coast Guard officials say they received a tip around 10 a.m. that a body had washed up on Bartram Island across from JaxPort.

The caller said it appeared the body had "been there awhile," according to a Coast Guard spokesman.
Rescuers found the man in the shallow part of the water during low tide. They say he was clothed.
An autopsy is planned to determine his age range and the cause of death. It's unknown if there were any signs of trauma.
Sgt. Chuck Ford of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office confirms that the body had been in the water for "several days at least."
JSO is asking anyone who knows of a missing person, perhaps someone who'd gone fishing, to contact them at 904-630-0500 or call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
