Police release timeline in disappearance of Jacksonville woman

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Police have released a timeline of events leading up to the disappearance of a woman last seen Feb. 7.

Kerry Jones' boyfriend Nick Kelly, 52, reported her missing the day after the two had an argument.

Kelly said Jones, 46, hit him until he was unconscious during an argument at their home on Mandarin Road Feb. 6.

Jones, who is deaf, then left the house, according to Kelly.

Kelly is the last person known to have seen Jones.

Jones' son Aaron, who said he talked to his mom almost every day, told Action News Jax by phone that his mom moved to Jacksonville from Alabama about six months ago to be with Kelly.

On Feb. 7, Jones’ car, a 1996 Toyota Avalon, was seen at the Bealls Shopping Center on San Jose Boulevard.

A bicyclist was seen riding away from where her car was, but it is unknown if that person had anything to do with her disappearance.

Her car turned up at the place where she works the day she disappeared.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is looking for businesses or residents that might have video surveillance anywhere near the 12300 block of Mandarin Road or the 12200 block of San Jose Boulevard, or anywhere in between.

Police are asking anyone who saw Jones or Kelly between Feb. 7 and Feb. 16 or information about the case to call 904-630-0500 or email JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org.

To remain anonymous and receive a possible reward up to $3,000 contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
