JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 9-year-old boy who ran away from his Arlington home Tuesday night to avoid discipline was found in the woods barefoot and asleep.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced Ja’bari T. Goodwyn was found around 1:15 p.m.
Ja’bari is 4 feet tall and weighs about 45 to 65 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
The boy ran away around 9:30 p.m. from 8000 block of Arlington Expressway to avoid discipline from getting in trouble at school.
Ja'bari was last seen wearing a red T-shirt, blue pants and white socks.
"I know that God's got him," said Shanae Love, Ja'bari's mother. "And just bring him home. If ya'll see him. If anybody sees him on the side of the road or anything can ya'll just please contact the police? So ya'll can just bring my child home. Ya'll don't understand how that feels if you don't have a child."
Family said Ja'bari didn't show up for school.
A man visiting a friend at Royal Estates Apartments helped pull Ja'Bari over the fence. He described him as groggy, but ok.
