Police searching for suspect after teen killed, 3 adults injured in Brentwood shooting

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect who shot and killed a teen girl and injured three adults  at a party on Friday night.

The Sheriff's Office said shots were fired after an argument broke out during a small party in a Brentwood neighborhood.

The JSO said the teen victim is 14-15 years old.

Friends and family members are now sharing pictures and memories of Tamia Sanders on social media, the teen they say was killed.

“When I came outside, it was people in panic you know from the little girl and everybody being shot,” a neighbor, Clifford Troutman, said.

On Saturday afternoon, Troutman said he was cleaning up from the shooting, which happened in front of his home. He said he heard the gunshots from inside and that his four kids were home at the time.

“That’s very scary ‘cause I mean it could’ve happened to mine,” Troutman said. “I mean it’s senseless, really.”

Friday night Action New Jax saw police officers knocking on neighbors’ doors to try and talk to witnesses.

Troutman said the shooting has been devastating for his family and the neighborhood.

“Especially a child,” Troutman said. “That was one of those raw moments in my life. I haven’t seen nothing like that in a while especially close to home.”

Three adults who were also shot were brought to UF Health for their injuries.

One adult has life-threatening injuries and two were stable, police said.
