JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Sears announced it will shut down the Regency store location in July.
The store is one of 10 locations that will close nationwide.
The store’s closure means about 60 employees will lose their jobs. Liquidation sales at the store will begin on April 29.
It is also a big hit for the Regency Mall, which has seen a number of stores leave in recent years. But, in August the International Décor Outlet is scheduled to open, which will bring about 80 different store fronts and a few restaurants.
In addition to this sears store, Sears Holdings will also close 68 Kmart stores nationwide. Two of those will be in the Jacksonville area; one on San Jose Boulevard in Mandarin and one in Neptune Beach.
