The Shands Bridge reopened Sunday evening after being damaged during Hurricane Matthew.
The hurricane came up Florida's coastline, causing damage and beach erosion throughout the state.
Officials announced the closure of the bridge on Saturday after it was damaged during the storm. However, officials didn't go into detail about the damage.
Action News Jax viewer George sent a photo that appears to show workers on the Shands Bridge. The viewer said the photo shows that the bridge washed out on east side where most people fish.
The closure of the bridge means that travelers were left using the Buckman Bridge.
