PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — A man told St. Johns County Fire Rescue that he saw a shark bite his arm on Ponte Vedra Beach on Sunday afternoon.
The man, who is in his 60s, told a Ponte Vedra Beach couple that he was wading in knee-deep water and saw a 3- to 4-foot shark and that couple called 911.
The couple tells Action News Jax that the man was able to walk out of the water by himself and was losing a lot of blood.
SJCFR was called about the shark bite at 3:30 p.m. The man had minor lacerations to his right elbow and was taken to a local hospital.
