Two women were arrested Sunday after deputies found crack pipes hidden on them during a traffic stop in St. Johns County.
Donna Read, 35, and Barbara Balentine, 32, were passengers in a van that deputies stopped on South St. Johns Street, according to officials.

Deputies said Read told them she was very nervous while getting out of the van. They found several items commonly used to smoke or ingest crack cocaine in plain sight near her seat, according to an arrest report.
Deputies also found a glass pipe in Read's pants leg after she gave them permission to search her, officials said.

The pipe tested positive for crack cocaine and Read was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies said they more drug paraphernalia inside a tan purse near where Balentine was sitting.
Deputies said they found a wallet containing Balentine's Social Security card and a white square substance that tested positive for cocaine inside the purse.

When deputies asked Balentine if she had anything on her that was not allowed in jail, she told them she had a glass crack pipe in her vagina, deputies said.
Balentine was taken to the jail on possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia charges.
The pipe was removed at the jail, but it was flushed before deputies could submit it into evidence, officials said.
