JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Security video shows a car slamming into a Jacksonville car dealership and repair shop.
The car crashed into a power pole and hit a Pulido’s Automotive Shows sign on Atlantic Boulevard near the I-95 exit.
“It rattled the building,” Pulido’s owner Robert Ringgold said. “We were like, ‘Something definitely went wrong.’”
Ringgold said a driver was taken to the hospital after the car hit a 1971 Mustang Mach 1 and caused more than $10,000 worth of damage at his shop.
“(It) damaged the fright front fender,” Ringgold said. “I’m afraid to look under the hood.”
Ringgold said he sees crashes at the intersection all the time and speeding is a concern in the area.
“We think his car was breaking,” Ringgold said. “You see the car fly into the picture.”

Ringgold said the driver who crashed may have been trying to avoid another car slowing down on Atlantic Boulevard and Merill Avenue.
Two schools, Bishop Kenny High School and Assumption Catholic School, are right across the street from where the driver crashed.
The speed limit in the area is 30 miles per hour.
Action News Jax used a radar gun and clocked the majority of traffic coming off the ramp at more than 40 miles per hour.
Ringgold said he fears for his and his employee's safety.
“We’re always scared being where we are, having glass in the front, that a car is going to come into the building,” Ringgold said.
Florida Department of Transportation said they are looking into if plans are in place in to address traffic concerns at the intersection.
