A St. Augustine man won $1 million after buying a $25 Florida Cash scratch-off at the Murabella Publix.
John Golbranson III, 59, chose to receive his winnings as a lump-sum payment of $795,462, according to a release from the Florida Lottery.
Golbranson had won $100 from other scratch-off games and decided to try his luck with the Florida Cash game.
"My wife and I were shocked to see it was a $1 million winning ticket. Buying a few extra scratch-offs really ended up paying off!" Golbranson said.
The Publix, located at 84 Tucscan Way, will get a $2,000 bonus commission for selling a winning ticket.
