PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — A dead whale has washed ashore near the Sawgrass Beach Club, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has confirmed.
A viewers sent Action News Jax a photo of the whale.
FWC said the whale is an adult pygmy sperm whale approximately 14 feet in length.
FWC staff are at the beach to recover the whale.
The area the whale washed up is about two miles north of Mickler’s.
