22-year-old arrested for murder after 19-year-old's stabbing death in Fernandina Beach

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — UPDATES: Stabbing suspect held without bond

A man is charged with murder after a 19-year-old died from stab wounds in Fernandina Beach on Monday morning.

Thomas Erdmann, 19, died in surgery after he was stabbed multiple times in his driveway on Tarpon Avenue and 6th Street.

Police were called to the home, where they found Erdmann covered in blood.

Erdmann's sister said he was about to leave in two weeks to begin training for the Marines.

She said the stabbing happened after a fight about her brother's ex-girlfriend.

Oceanway woman accused of scamming local business people

Zachary M. Fila, 22, of Yulee has been charged with first degree murder in Erdmann's death.

Nassau County deputies saw a car leaving the area and found Fila inside.

Fila was taken into custody as police investigated.

Officers arrested Fila on a first-degree murder charge after Erdnmann died in surgery.

A judge ordered no bond for Fila, who appeared Tuesday morning in court. The State Attorney's Office said they will file formal charges in the coming weeks.
