RDL Logistics had several trailers topple during Thursday's tornado in Yulee.
The trucking containers weigh over 10,000 pounds and yet they flipped on their side after a tornado ripped through the area.
It was a severe storm that struck in a matter of seconds. Surveillance video shows a trucking container lifted and then flipped on its side.
“Sounded like a train coming through our yard. The building was shaking,” said Nicole Pokines, director of operations for RDL Logistics.
Shaking from a tornado that happened around 2 p.m. Thursday. Surveillance video also shows trash cans and other things fly across the lot.
“The rain was coming in and there were tree branches going down the hallway,” Pokines said.
The strength of the storm was also caught on camera inside the building. A ladder and other items thrown across the floor when the doors were ripped open.
“This one and the one all the way down at the end here have the most damage,” Pokines said.
In all, 8 containers were damaged.
“It looks like a can opener just went right around it,” Pokines said.
It will likely cost thousands of dollars to fix the damage to the containers. Eventually, some of the containers were turned upright.
“It’s insane, it’s scary,” Pokines said.
There were around 7 people inside the building when the storm hit. There were also drivers out in the field. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
