Surveillance footage captures possible tornado on Westside

Home surveillance video captured a possible tornado on the Westside on Monday night.

First Alert Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh looked at the video and pointed out what appears to be circulation in the flying debris.

"Stuff everywhere. Trees snapped in half," homeowner Ronnie McDowell said.

The surveillance video shows the moments the storm blew into this Westside neighborhood, knocking down trees, furniture and fencing and destroying parts of a roof. Our First Alert Weather team said the video shows signs of the circulation of a possible tornado.

"We've got water damage in the living room. The fireplace, the back door, the whole back porch is sinking down," McDowell said.

McDowell said she was inside the home with her daughter and her daughter's friend when the storm hit. They went into a hallway for protection. The storm left a hole in her roof and destroyed her shed. The surveillance video is from her neighbor's home next door.

"The roof of it is over here in this yard. A piece of my roof is laying over in my back yard. Their stuff is in my yard, my stuff is in their yard. It's crazy," McDowell said.
