(Update 10:43 a.m.) - Troopers say Ashley Mooney's injuries are serious, not fatal.
A 20-year-old woman was seriously injured after she crashed into a tree in Clay County on Friday.
Ashley Mooney crashed a 1993 Toyota Corolla into a tree on Thunder Road near Darlene Road in Middleburg at approximately 4 a.m.
She was taken to Orange Park Medical Center.
Troopers said they do not know what led to the crash.
Thunder Road was closed as troopers investigated.
Editor's note: FHP initially reported the crash as fatal and said Mooney died at the hospital from her injuries. They updated her condition to serious several hours after the crash.
