ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Two men have died in a shooting in St. Augustine, which reportedly started as an online fight, St. Johns County authorities said. The shooting happened Saturday morning in the parking lot of King Food Mart on West King Street.
St. Johns County Sheriff' spokesman Chuck Mulligan told Action News Jax that Charles Canyon Molitor, 25, died at the scene and Elroi Ishmael Ashley, 30, died at the hospital.
He said deputies found both men had gunshot wounds.
Mulligan said the shooting started by an argument the men were having online. The men agreed to meet at the store, where Ashley and Molitor resumed their argument. Both men then took out guns and started to fire at one another.
The investigation is continuing, with pending forensic examinations, autopsy findings and additional interviews surrounding the incident.
According to his Facebook page, Ashley lived in Jacksonville and was engaged to be married. He also was the father of four children, his sister confirmed with Action News Jax.
