A 14-year-veteran of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was arrested Thursday.
Officer Adam Boyd was charged with grand theft, petit theft and official misconduct.
The charges come from work Boyd did outside of his JSO responsibilities. Boyd worked security for several apartment complexes and malls. It’s alleged that he was paid for work that he never did.
We asked how JSO found out about Boyd’s actions.

“There was a separate non-related allegation of misconduct, complaint. We began conducting that investigation and in doing that investigation uncovered this,” said JSO Undersheriff Pat Ivey.
Boyd has to go through the criminal process. Following that, JSO will deal with his employment. Until then, he is suspended without pay.
Back in November, Officer Boyd received an Officer of the Month Award for his work in Zone 2.
